AMERICAN FIREFIGHTERS COALITION PAC
The American Firefighters Coalition PAC, an initiative of the VF2024 PAC, is a non-party political organization (not a charity) established and regulated under section 527 of the tax code. Our goal is to advocate for the election of more Candidates that support the efforts of our nation's firefighters and share the same agenda.
THE AMERICAN FIREFIGHTERS COALITION IS COMMITTED TO ADVANCING THE WORKING CONDITIONS OF VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS BY IMPROVING PUBLIC OPINION AND PROMOTING THE ELECTION OF POLITICIANS THAT SUPPORT OUR NATION’S VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS.
The selfless volunteers of our volunteer fire departments stand among the best and most courageous individuals in our communities. Their mission is clear: to put their lives on the line to protect and save others. Whether responding to a house fire, a car crash, or a major disaster, these firefighters willingly sacrifice their own safety to ensure the well-being of others. Sadly, despite their valor, volunteer firefighters are frequently overlooked in the political sphere, resulting in underfunded, understaffed, and underappreciated departments.
For far too long, fire departments have not received the necessary attention from our elected officials, leading to numerous challenges within the firefighting profession. However, with the continued support of caring individuals like you, we can advocate for better legislation, enhance the safety of our communities, and support these heroic men and women.
CONTRIBUTIONS ARE NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE
We need to educate legislators and candidates on the range of issues facing Firefighters.
These bills highlight ongoing legislative efforts to support and improve the working conditions and resources available to firefighters.
We ask that you please help Advocate for the following:
Federal Firefighter Pay Equity Act (H.R. 1235): This bill seeks to address pay disparities among federal firefighters by ensuring they receive compensation comparable to their non-federal counterparts. It aims to improve recruitment and retention within federal fire services by providing equitable pay adjustments (Congress.gov | Library of Congress).
Fair Pay for Federal Firefighters Act (H.R. 4831): This bill proposes a special rate of basic pay for federal wildland firefighters during fiscal years 2024 and 2025. It aims to enhance the compensation structure for these firefighters to better reflect their crucial role and to ensure they are adequately compensated for their hazardous work (Congress.gov | Library of Congress).
Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Programs Reauthorization: These programs provide critical funding to fire departments for equipment, training, and staffing. The reauthorization bill seeks to extend and enhance these programs, ensuring fire departments across the country have the necessary resources to operate effectively and safely (Congressional Fire Services Institute).
